Species Frequency

A ranked list showing the most frequently encountered species in the project area. This is, effectively, those species that have the most records in the database

Species Dominance

A ranked list showing the species with the most records with a 'status' of frequent (plants) or plentiful (animals) in the project area. This identifies the most dominant species in the area; that is, the species found on the most sites and at the highest population levels.

Species Spread

A ranked list showing the species that are found on the most sites within the project area. This is a count of the number of sites a species has been recorded on showing how widespread that species is in the area.

Site Diversity

A ranked list showing the sites within the project area and the number of species recorded on each. This is a count of the number of individual species have been recorded indicating the level of diversity of species on each site.

Site Abundance

A ranked list showing the sites within the project area and the number of individual records collected on each. This is a count of the number of individual records and gives a poor indication of the abundance of species on each site given the number of visits to the site will have a significant effect on this.

Site Coverage

A ranked list showing the number of survey visits made to each of the sites within the project area. This count of visits gives an indication of the coverage each site has received to date and when used in conjunction with the table of abundance gives an indication as the overall importance of sites as wildlife havens.

Habitat Mix

This function uses the preferred habitat of plants to provide a profile of habitat mix on sites (or groups of sites), for species groups and for the months of the year. By selecting a site, for example, you can see how the habitat mix changes through each month of the year.

Monthly Species Count

A summary table and related chart showing the number of species recorded in each month.

Monthly Record Count

A summary table and related chart showing the number of records collected in each month.

Monthly Visit Count

A summary table and related chart showing the number of survey visits made in each month.

Distribution Map

An interactive distribution map where, by using the available filters, you can see the location of sites within a sites group (cluster, geology and habitat) or the sites where species within a selected class, order or family have been seen. This can be narrowed down to a specific month.

CAUTION: This map has a lot of data to load and can take quite a while to load (around 2 minutes) and so is NOT suitable for use on mobile devices.
